To make the sliver sized and appropriate for the final stage, the linear density has to be brought down through drafting. But, the strands obtained from the draw frame need to be brought together, eliminating looseness and ensuring the right twist count. That’s where roving cans prove to be of paramount importance.

Use Of Roving Cans
Specialised and highly durable roving cans make sure that all the ring frame operations – creeling, drafting, twisting, laying & others – are efficiently carried out. Jumac roving cans are instrumental in maintaining the desired yarn strength levels, proper attenuation & winding of the drawn sliver, and ensure optimal roving compactness.

The roving stage is an extremely important part of the spinning process. Through the roving operations, better strands are created – and the sliver obtained from draw frame machines are modified to make it suitable for final spinning. During this stage, suitable twists are also inserted.
Efficient roving minimises hairiness levels, drafts the draw frame sliver, and ensures that the right level of yarn strength and quality. The linear density of the sliver is reduced, and low twist lea are formed. This optimises the final yarn quality.

All the material handling processes in the roving stage, like creeling, twisting, winding, doffing, are expertly handled by specially designed spinning cans. These cans ensure smooth material handling, and rule out possibilities of winding problems and defective twisting.

Given the sensitive nature of roving yarns, sub-optimal material handling standards are often a point of concern. Roving tensions and breakage are also commonly encountered problems. It is important to use reliable, pre-tested machinery, and high-quality roving cans – to remove these risks.
The cuts in the winding machine are affected by the low spring loads related problems. The CCP cuts, CP cuts, CCM cuts and CM cuts are higher in old or low spring loads. Unevenness, along with count and strength CV%, is more as well.
Made with virgin plastic sheets and fitted with precision engineered accessories to enhance stability and performance, the custom roving cans from Jumac offer excellent durability and easy operability. These OEM-agnostic cans take up the overall roving efficiency to the next level.
